The NHS Health Check (for ages 40–74) is a preventative programme designed to assess your risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease. It is intended for people who do not already have these conditions, rather than a test for existing conditions.
Health Checks are offered up to age 74 because most people will have been screened regularly over time, and those aged 75 and over are often monitored through routine GP care.
However, this is a general guide. If you are aged 75 or over and do not have a condition that is being regularly reviewed, please do get in touch - we would be very happy to arrange a general health check (a bit of an MOT) for you if it would be helpful.
