Barrington Medical Centre doctors have always kept their named patient lists.
As you may be aware it is now a contractual requirement for all patients to be allocated a named accountable General Practitioner.
Patients registered with Barrington Medical Centre will be allocated a named GP when they register.
What does ‘accountable’ mean?
Your named GP will have overall responsibility for the coordination of all appropriate services, care and support that our surgery provides you. It does not prevent you from seeing any GP or nurse in the practice as you currently do.
Your named accountable GP will:
- Take overall responsibility for ensuring that all services you require under our contract are delivered to you
- Where required, based on their professional judgement, the named accountable GP will work with other health professionals to meet your needs
- Make sure that your physical and psycological needs are recognised and responded to
- Make sure that you have access to a health check
Your named accountable GP does not have to:
- Be the only GP that you will see, please make an appointment with any of our doctors who will be pleased to help you
All patients are entitled to choose to see any GP or nurse in the practice in line with current arrangements.
